If you like to get out to the shops then Queen Street Auckland, the main outdoor shopping area right in the heart of the city, is definitely the right place to be.
Stretching almost 3km from near the Hauraki Gulf ferry terminal on the waterfront up the hill to Karangahope Road (known locally as K. Road), Queen Street is one of the most popular shopping destinations in Auckland.
The architecture of Queen Street is really quite impressive and includes everything from beautiful old buildings of the colonial period to modern high rise office blocks.
There's a fantastic choice of department stores and clothing shops in the area offering the very latest in fashion accessories and home décor to keep you busy.

At the bottom of Queen Street you'll discover the historic Queens Arcade.
Built in the Victorian era, the Queens arcade has kept it's old world charm and is packed with antique shops, cafés and specialist boutiques which you'll enjoy poking around in. Well worth a visit.
The BNZ Tower is at number 125 and at 106 meters it's the 8th tallest building in Auckland.
You'll find shops on the first two floors including jewellers, perfume shops, cosmetics, antiques, florists and a coffee shop.
There's a food court In the basement and if you want to go up to the observation deck on the 32nd floor you can buy a token at the office.

22 Queen Street Auckland is where you'll find the 'Champions of the World', the official store of the world famous New Zealand All Blacks Rugby team.
They stock all sports clothing and other items for rugby League, football, cricket and other sports.
If you're a rugby fan make sure you get your customized All Blacks rugby jersey.
So you've reached the top of the hill after a hard day's shopping, look for the Queens Head Tavern, number 396 Queens Street, Auckland.
Opened in 1890 it's one of the oldest pubs in the city. Order a snack, lunch or dinner and a glass of wine or a beer. Relax, you've earned it!
