Hi, we are Barry and Elena and this is our site about living in the fabulous city of Auckland, New Zealand.
We arrived here early one morning in February 2005, tired out after over 24 hours of travelling from London.
We stepped out of the terminal at Auckland International Airport to be greeted by the warm sea breezes of the nearby Manukau harbour.....we were home.
We soon got down to exploring and discovered stunning views, gorgeous beaches, top theatres, cutting-edge fashion, first class tourist attractions, quality shopping and excellent cuisine and you too are sure to find the dream lifestyle you deserve in this vibrant city.
Come with us as we check out the trendy restaurants and bars of the Viaduct, sample an award winning Auckland wine in a beautiful island vineyard, stop for a latté in a Queen Street pavement café and browse the fashionable shopping precincts of Parnell, Ponsonby, Botany Down and Newmarket.
Can you imagine yourself aboard a luxury yacht, cruising the fabulous Hauraki Gulf or heading out for a days fishing on your own boat, windsurfing across the bay or taking a ferry ride to a lonely island and relaxing on your own deserted beach?
What about swimming with wild dolphins, riding the surf of the wild beaches of the west coast or teeing off at a world class golf course?
We've had a lot of fun trying all of these activities and we'll be sharing our experiences with you through the pages of Auckland Lifestyle, but we can't try everything so we need your help with your recommendations or suggestions.
Maybe you've tried a great Restaurant, been on a memorable tour or leaped off the Harbour Bridge on a bungy and would like to tell everyone about it. Send in your article from our Contact Page.
