The Devonport Food and Wine Festival in Auckland is an annual event that takes place on the stunning waterfront on Auckland's North Shore at Devonport.

Started over 19 years ago, the Devonport Festival in Auckland is run by the Devonport Rotary club.

Although originally started to support and involve the local community, the festival has grown over the years to become a major social event in the Auckland food and wine calendar.

Exhibitors from all parts of New Zealand and the rest of the world enthusiastically take part in the festival, keen to show off their superb collections of wines and exhibit their culinary skills.

Music has always been an important part of the Festival with some of New Zealand's best loved musicians taking part on two stages right on the beach front.

The 2009 Festival will be the 20th and promises to feature even bigger and better entertainment than previously, transforming this iconic event into a more music driven occasion.

The Devonport Rotary club contributes all the money raised by the Food and Wine Festival to local and national charity organisations, schools, sporting bodies and institutions.

By stepping up the musical element the festival has attracted even more visitors than in the past which in turn has raised more crucial funds for worthy causes.

Having already raised over NZ$ 2,000,000 the festival organisers have now engaged professional P.R. services to manage everything and ensure the continued success of the event.

While the direction may have changed, the quality and diversity of food and wine has remained.

Taking place in the third weekend of February each year the festival attracts thousands of visitors from around the globe, why not be one of them ?
