Auckland Busses are one of the cheapest ways of getting into and around the city.
It's 21km from
Auckland airport
into Auckland city centre and as there's no train service you're going to have to take a taxi, hire a car or jump on a bus.
The bus company most people use is the
Auckland Airbus
departing regularly from outside the terminal and going directly into the city.
Once in the city, look for the Link busses to get you around the Auckland central area.
Operated by Stagecoach buses, the Link busses travel clockwise and anti-clockwise around the inner city area every 10 minutes. For more information take a look at the
Auckland Transport
web site. If you want to get around to all the
Tourist Attractions
you can buy a day pass for the Auckland Explorer bus.
This is a jump on jump off bus that departs from the Ferry Building every 30 minutes in the Summer and every hour in the winter. Visiting 14 top Auckland attractions, the tour comes with full commentary.
For access to buses, trains and ferries, the recently completed
Britomart Transport Centre
is the place to go.
