No need to be bored in Auckland, there's an incredible amount of exciting activities to keep you entertained in and around this exciting city.
You could experience first hand the thrill of crewing a genuine America's Cup racing yacht or scare yourself senseless bungy jumping off the Auckland Harbour Bridge.
Why not take up flying light aircraft or helicopters at one of the local flying clubs, a great way to see the magnificent views around Auckland.
Or for something more peaceful, take up para-gliding or learn to fly gliders at one of the gliding clubs and enjoy the calm of silent flight.
For something a bit nearer to the ground, check out the motor sports clubs and race cars and motorcycles or go tramping (hiking) through the beautiful bush clad Waitakeries and Hunua Ranges.
Yacht RacingIf, like me, your idea of activity is something a little slower, take a ferry out to the beautiful Hauraki Gulf islands, stroll along the beaches, sit down to a pic-nic and watch the sun set over Auckland city.
And if that's still too much then a great place to spend time in Auckland New Zealand is Tamaki Drive, Auckland Central's most scenic route.
Tamaki DriveVery popular with Aucklanders, Tamaki Drive is a long flat road passing by some of Auckland City’sbest beaches, great for cycling, in-line-skating, running or just taking a casual stroll with the kids. Don't worry if you don't have skates or a bike you can easily rent them here, so that's no excuse for not joining in!
